Content Strategist

Our healthcare client is searching for a Content Strategist to work on journey-based content messaging for a consumer facing digital property. This role sits within the in-house Brand and Creative team and is responsible for shaping and executing a journey-based content strategy for a key audience-based marketing campaign. The Content Strategist will define how content supports distinct audience personas including prospects and members, mapping needs across the full lifecycle and translating them into a cohesive, scalable content experience.The role partners closely with marketing strategy, analytics, IT, Product, and cross-functional teams to ensure content not only aligns to user journeys but continuously improves performance across engagement, trust-building, and conversion outcomes.This role is fully remote, 40 hours per week for 4 months. Though remote, the client is currently only considering candidates in Pacific Time zone.Responsibilities:- Lead end-to-end content strategy and experience design for a guided enrollment experience and a supporting content hub- Define audience-first content journeys across key segments (e.g., prospects, members) of a complex audience- Establish content models, hub structure, and experience principles to enable scalable, reusable, and dynamic content delivery- Translate go-to-market objectives into actionable content plans, editorial roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks- Define measurement strategy, success metrics, and optimization approach tied to business outcomes (e.g., engagement, conversion, retention)- Lead cross-functional alignment across marketing, SEO, analytics, creative, and product stakeholders- Conduct content audits and inventories to assess existing performance, identify gaps, and inform prioritization- Partner with SEO and analytics teams to validate keyword strategy, evaluate performance, and continuously refine content plans- Define tagging, taxonomy, and metadata frameworks to enable dynamic content surfacing and personalization within the hubRequirements:- 5-7+ years of experience in digital content strategy, content marketing, or digital experience design- Demonstrated experience building content ecosystems or hubs, not just individual assets or campaign- Strategic and systems-oriented thinker - sees content as an interconnected experience, not isolated deliverables- Highly collaborative - builds strong partnerships across stakeholders, SMEs, and cross-functional teams- Outcome-driven - focused on measurable business impact, not just content output- Comfortable with ambiguity - able to define structure, frameworks, and direction where none exists- Strong communicator and influencer - able to clearly articulate recommendations and gain stakeholder alignment through compelling storytelling- Ownership mindset - proactively drives work forward, anticipates needs, and ensures execution quality end-to-end- Strong expertise in:- Audience journey mapping and lifecycle content planning- SEO-informed content strategy, including keyword and search intent alignment- Content audits, gap analysis, and editorial planning- Content architecture, tagging, and taxonomy design- Performance measurement and optimization frameworks- Experience working within CMS-driven environments and collaborating with cross-functional production teams- Ability to translate data and insights into clear recommendations and prioritized actions In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data.BenefitsCreative Circle's Freelance Employee benefits package includes eligibility for Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) medical plan, dental/vision/term life package, discount prescription program, critical illness, accident, tele-behavioral health, and 401(k) plan.
