Dining Room Manager

Mary's Woods is looking for a Dining Room Manager with exceptional communication and customer service skills to join our Dining Services team. The responsibilities of the Dining Room Manager include hiring, training, overseeing and assessing staff to maintain high levels of service and hospitality. The Dining Room Manager is also accountable for the daily operations of the dining areas and ensuring exceptional service. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to the organization's mission. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. We are seeking passionate team members to join us in fulfilling our mission and values.Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience and skills needed to be successful:Oversee day-to-day Front of House (FOH) operations in designated dining areas, ensuring efficient operation within budgetary and labor management parametersDemonstrate comprehensive knowledge of employee relations, ethics, food sanitation, safety, food and labor laws, housekeeping procedures, and food service techniquesUtilize supervisory skills to interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline FOH staffPrepare staff schedules, track attendance, review payroll, and monitor daily salesMonitor and maintain food quality and service standards, seeking feedback and providing guidance for improvementEnsure adherence to high-quality food service and beverage programs, maintaining professional standards and safety regulationsControl payroll and equipment costs, track inventory, order and develop cost-saving measuresOrganize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings to facilitate effective communicationUnderstand, comply with, and advocate for all rules regarding resident rights and adhere strictly to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy requirementsDemonstrate initiative and judgment in task assignment, delegation, and issue resolutionRelate positively to staff, residents, and families, fostering teamwork across all levelsCreate an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differencesSeek opportunities to gain experience working and collaborating in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings with a willingness to change for continual improvementEducation And Experience RequiredMinimum of two years of experience in management and/or supervision of restaurants, hotels, or retirement community facilitiesMinimum of three years of experience in the restaurant or food service industryEducation and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma or GED Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint)Current Oregon Food Handlers cardEmployee BenefitsFree Employee TriMet PassMedical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and Flexible Spending Account first of the month after hire (working 30+ hours per week)Employee Assistance Program403b with match Paid Time Off & HolidaysTuition Assistance ProgramAccess to Fitness Center & PoolComplimentary Food Item per ShiftThe starting wage depends on experience, certification and education.
