Position Summary*US Citizens Only*Brave is seeking a Senior Professional Services Engineer – Virtualization & HCI to support enterprise and federal customer infrastructure deployments across the organization. This role will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring, validating, documenting, and transitioning virtualized infrastructure environments for customer projects.The ideal candidate is a senior hands-on engineer with strong experience in virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, VDI, enterprise networking, storage, Windows/Linux systems, and secure or restricted customer environments. This person should be comfortable working directly with customers, vendors, project managers, security teams, and engineering partners to deliver production-ready infrastructure.This is not a single-project role. The engineer will support multiple Brave engagements involving data center modernization, virtualization deployments, HCI platforms, VDI environments, infrastructure refreshes, secure enclave builds, and customer handoff activities.Primary RoleThe Senior Professional Services Engineer will serve as a senior technical delivery resource for Brave’s infrastructure services team. This person will be responsible for taking customer infrastructure from planning through implementation, validation, documentation, and operational handoff.The role requires both deep technical ability and customer-facing professionalism.Key ResponsibilitiesVirtualization and HCI DeploymentDeploy, configure, and validate enterprise virtualization platforms.Support hyperconverged infrastructure environments, including platforms such as Nutanix, VMware-based HCI, Dell HCI, Cisco UCS-based platforms, or similar technologies.Install and configure compute, storage, virtualization, and management components.Build and configure clusters, hosts, datastores, virtual switches, networks, images, and VM templates.Support workload migration, new environment buildouts, and infrastructure modernization projects.Validate infrastructure readiness before customer acceptance.VDI and End-User Compute SupportSupport deployment and configuration of virtual desktop and virtual application environments.Assist with VM sizing, image creation, user profile considerations, resource pools, and desktop performance validation.Support environments where multiple users access shared or dedicated virtual machines.Help validate user experience, application performance, and resource utilization.Support disconnected, isolated, or restricted-access VDI environments when required.Systems EngineeringConfigure and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environments.Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, identity integration, and management services as required by project scope.Build and manage gold images, VM templates, operating system baselines, and software installation packages.Assist with patching, hardening, monitoring, and system readiness tasks.Support application dependency installation and infrastructure enablement for development, engineering, and DevSecOps environments.Networking and Storage CoordinationWork with network engineers, OEMs, and customer teams to validate switching, VLANs, trunks, routing, uplinks, port mappings, and cabling.Understand virtualization networking, including virtual switches, distributed switches, VLAN tagging, storage networks, management networks, and workload networks.Validate throughput assumptions and identify bottlenecks in virtualized environments.Support storage configuration, resiliency validation, replication, snapshots, and backup integration where applicable.Secure and Controlled EnvironmentsSupport deployments in federal, DoD, regulated, air-gapped, lab, or restricted-network environments.Assist with security baseline implementation, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and evidence collection.Support ATO, RMF, STIG, ACAS/Nessus, SCAP, or other compliance-related activities as a technical contributor.Provide technical details and configuration evidence to security or compliance leads.Understand the operational impact of working in environments with limited internet access, controlled media, restricted LAN access, or strict change control.Automation and ToolingUse scripting and automation to improve repeatability and reduce manual configuration.Support automation using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or vendor-specific automation tools.Assist with local repositories, package mirrors, installation media, and offline dependency management.Support infrastructure enablement for CI/CD, DevSecOps, development environments, and engineering toolchains as required.Customer Delivery and DocumentationAct as a customer-facing senior engineer during deployments.Participate in discovery, planning, design review, installation, testing, and handoff meetings.Produce clear technical documentation, including:As-built documentationNetwork and logical diagramsConfiguration recordsInstallation notesValidation resultsIssues and remediation logsHandoff documentationKnowledge transfer materialsConduct knowledge transfer sessions with customer technical teams.Support final acceptance and transition to operations.Required Qualifications7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, virtualization, or professional services delivery.Strong hands-on experience with enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.Experience deploying or supporting hyperconverged infrastructure or enterprise virtualization clusters.Experience with Windows Server and Linux administration.Strong understanding of virtual networking, VLANs, switching concepts, storage networking, management networks, and workload segmentation.Experience building VM templates, managing images, provisioning virtual machines, and troubleshooting guest operating systems.Ability to work directly with customers in professional services or project delivery environments.Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, network, virtualization, and guest OS layers.Strong written documentation skills.Ability to work independently on customer sites with limited supervision.Ability to coordinate with vendors, OEMs, customer technical teams, project managers, and security stakeholders.Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.Preferred QualificationsNutanix experience, including AHV, Prism, cluster configuration, lifecycle management, storage policies, and troubleshooting.VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, or Horizon experience.Dell, Cisco, HPE, Lenovo, or other enterprise server infrastructure experience.Experience with VDI platforms such as VMware Horizon, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, Nutanix Frame, or similar technologies.Experience with federal, DoD, Navy, classified, lab, range, or secure customer environments.Experience supporting ATO, RMF, STIG, ACAS/Nessus, SCAP, vulnerability remediation, or security compliance documentation.CompTIA Security+, DoD 8570/8140 eligibility, or similar security certification.Nutanix, VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, or Linux certifications.Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.Experience with DevSecOps infrastructure, Jenkins, Git, artifact repositories, container platforms, CI/CD systems, or secure software development build the environment, troubleshoot issues, document what was delivered, and hand it off cleanly.This person should be senior enough to operate without constant direction but collaborative enough to work within Brave’s project delivery process.They should be comfortable with both planned implementation work and field realities such as missing dependencies, cabling issues, licensing gaps, incomplete documentation, unexpected network constraints, security requirements, or disconnected environments.Success MeasuresSuccess in this role will be measured by the engineer’s ability to:Deliver
