Maintain plant equipment and facilities to meet operating requirements and objectives, during and outside of regular operation schedules and maintenance.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance mechanic assignments on plant equipment and facilitiesCollect data for preventative and predictive plant maintenance projectsPerform millwright assignments such as bearing replacement, alignment of equipment, and inspection and repair of power transmission according to plant standardsPerform welding and cutting assignments such as fabrication of plant equipment and structures and repair of worn process equipment according to plant standardsInspect lubrication for mechanical equipment, record data for running equipment, take lab samples as required, drain oil and change oil and filters on all equipment oil reservoirsPerform pipefitter assignments to install, maintain and inspect existing and future piping structures on all types of piping systemsOperate mobile equipment to assist with completing maintenance assigned dutiesPerform plumbing inspection and repair on plant equipment and facilitiesAdhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant groundsMeet or exceed company safety standardsPerform other job responsibilities as assigned by managementQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior Mechanical experience/welding experience, training or certification requiredPrior plant maintenance mechanic experience a plusHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior Mechanical experience/welding experience, training or certification requiredPrior plant maintenance mechanic experience a plusHigh School Diploma or equivalentBi-lingual (a plus)Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to carry out not only simple, but complex oral and written instructions and deal with problems from standardized situations and work experience.Good mathematical skills, including basic math, fractions and conversions of four-five digit numbers and common units of measurement in both metric and decimal system.Ability to read and understand English sufficiently to be able to read technical information contained in manuals, reports, and Mechanical work related instruction, including safety issues and matters.Ability to communicate well with supervisors, welders, leadmen, other Mechanics, maintenance personnel, co-workers and outside contractors.Electrical and mechanical knowledge to detect potential safety hazards and breakdown of plant and quarry machinery and equipment and respond accordingly.Ability to identify and select the appropriate material and equipment necessary to perform the correct mechanical work and repair.High level of attentiveness and physical coordination to perform the work activities safely and productively.Working ConditionsContinuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.Must wear protective equipment while at the location.Physical RequirementsMust be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controlsHeavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objectsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipmentMust be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls.Heavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.Legal NoticesCEMEX is an EEO/AA (equal opportunity/affirmative action) institution and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, religious creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital or familial status, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by under federal, state or local law in the programs or activities which it operates.CEMEX will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all local, state and federal laws.CEMEX is an E-Verify participating employer.Arizona Smoke-Free Act.
