Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Senior / Staff Product Engineer - AI - this is a hybrid role in San Francisco. We are trusted by compliance teams at Ramp, Mercury, Coastal Community Bank, Grasshopper Bank, Gusto, Betterment and more.We are looking for a Senior or Staff Product Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join us and build customer-facing AI-powered products that automate financial crime compliance for banks and fintechs. You'll be a full-stack engineer with a strong foundation from top engineering cultures, a track record of building zero-to-one products at startups, and a genuine passion for solving complex problems with real customer impact. This is a high-ownership role where you'll work directly with customers and ship features that process thousands of compliance cases, saving teams significant time and directly driving revenue. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and want to build products that protect the global financial system, this is for you.What will you be doing?Own substantial product features end-to-end — from customer discovery and requirements gathering through to production deployment and iteration.Build agentic workflows that coordinate AI tools and data services to automate AML, sanctions, and KYC reviews while keeping humans in the loop.Develop intuitive interfaces for case management, reporting, analytics, and workflow configuration for compliance teams.Work directly with enterprise compliance customers to deeply understand their needs and translate complex problems into elegant technical solutions.Ship reliable, production-grade full-stack code across backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend using TypeScript, Python, Node.js, and React.Role responsibilities• Build net new product surfaces, scale existing products, support enterprise implementationsRequirements:3 - 8 years of experience in product software engineering, with Python or TypeScript Node. js (Mandatory)Building zero to one products used by real customers (Mandatory)Experience at a talent- dense high- growth startup (Mandatory)Previous experience in financial services or regulated industries (Nice-to-have)Strong educational background (Mandatory)Experience building APIs and working with databases.
