POSITION SUMMARYThe Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bar while delivering an exceptional guest experience and driving profitability. This role manages all bar staff, scheduling, inventory control, ordering, wine programming, and compliance with health and liquor regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive beverage knowledge, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to create an energetic and welcoming bar atmosphere.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSRecruit, interview, hire, train, and develop bar staffLead and manage daily bar operations to ensure efficiency and high service standardsCreate staff schedules based on business levels and forecasted volumeInteract with guests to build loyalty, enhance the guest experience, and professionally resolve concernsDevelop and maintain a premier wine and beverage programEnsure all liquor, health, and safety licenses and certifications remain current and compliantEnforce all food safety, alcohol service, and sanitation standardsMonitor liquor costs, inventory levels, waste, and sales performance to maintain profitabilityConduct regular inventory counts and oversee ordering of beer, liquor, wine, and bar suppliesBuild and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate pricing, introduce new products, and develop promotionsCollaborate with management and marketing teams on beverage features, events, and promotional programmingMaintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout all bar areasLead by example with professionalism, urgency, and a hospitality-driven mindsetQualifications & SkillsStrong leadership, communication, and guest service skillsAbility to recruit, train, motivate, and manage a teamExtensive knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer, bar operations, and service standardsStrong wine knowledge and wine service experience preferredUnderstanding of inventory management, budgeting, and cost controlsExperience analyzing liquor costs and driving beverage salesAbility to multitask and perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentKnowledge of local liquor laws and responsible alcohol service practicesAlcohol awareness certifications preferred (TIPS, ServSafe, or equivalent)Strong organizational and problem-solving skillsExperience developing beverage promotions and driving bar sales is a plusPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
