Position Summary Phoenix Children’s is seeking Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physicians. The Division of Infectious Diseases at Phoenix Children’s in Phoenix, AZ is recruiting pediatric ID physicians to provide clinical care at Phoenix Children’s. A successful applicant will join a growing division of physicians and advanced practice providers. Applicants are expected to be board‑certified or board‑eligible in pediatric infectious diseases and have a commitment to patient care and trainee education. The applicant will hold a clinical faculty title at The University of Arizona College of Medicine, with opportunities to hold titles at Mayo Clinic‑Scottsdale and Creighton University College of Medicine. The division provides care via an inpatient consult service and outpatient ID clinic, with involvement in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Division responsibilities include Antimicrobial Stewardship, Infection Prevention, and transplant programs for bone marrow stem cell, heart, liver, and kidney, as well as pediatric HIV medicine and research opportunities. Position Duties Patient Care Services Provide patient care services for which they are clinically privileged, including but not limited to: Direct patient care on inpatient and outpatient basis Subspecialty consultations and follow‑up Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures Urgent/emergent care as necessary Strive to achieve best patient and family centered care Support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division‑specific targets Adhere to divisional patient safety and quality standards Practice contemporary evidence‑based medicine Divisional Responsibilities Demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives (individual, division, hospital) Support medical education programs: supervision of trainees and allied health professionals, teaching rounds, lectures, conferences, and postgraduate educational activities Support research endeavors of the division and programmatic growth, including satellite efforts Professionalism Treat colleagues, employees and customers with courtesy, dignity and respect Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health‑care environment Support Phoenix Children’s mission, vision and values Other Activities Support the Division Chief as liaison to the professional community and general public as requested Conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside Phoenix Children’s if aligning with divisional programs Represent Phoenix Children’s in medical and business communities before the general public Perform miscellaneous duties as requested Position Qualifications Education MD or DO degree (required) Special Skills Ability to move freely from facility to facility and examine patients (required) Ability to communicate by telephone, computer or other devices (required) Ability to perform after‑hours or night call responsibilities as needed (required) Ability to work regularly scheduled work hours (required) Ability to work well under pressure (required) Additional Requirements Current Arizona License to Practice Medicine or ability to obtain prior to start date (required) Board certified/Board eligible in appropriate specialty (required) Physical Requirements & Occupational Exposure/Risk Potential Physical Requirements include: Feeling, Fine Motor Skills, Hearing, Pushing/Pulling, Reaching, Sitting, Standing, Stooping/Crouching/Kneeling/Crawling, Talking, Tasting/Smelling, Walking, Near Vision, Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Use of keyboard/mouse/computer equipment, Lift up to 35 lbs, Lift >35 lbs.
