After School Instructor

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate After School Instructor to provide educational support to students in STEM related subjects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in education, with the ability to engage students and foster a positive learning environment. This role involves working closely with students to enhance their understanding of academic material, promote effective study habits, and build confidence in their abilities. Starting Wages : $30 - $50 DOE/Class (Work only 6 hours a week and make up to $1,200/month) This is a part time position - Perfect for Students, School day Teachers, Retired Teachers, or Interns looking to get into the Tech or Education Fields Hours: 5 - 23 hours per week depending on personal availability, and willingness to travel around the Chicago IL and surrounding areas. Summer is 20 - 25 hours per week. Dojos are anywhere from 2:00pm - 5:30pm during the School year Teacher Duties: - Leading a group of 10 - 15 students in the classroom setting and using classroom management skills to represent and teach the curriculum provided. - Ability to adapt curriculum, hardware, or classroom set up to support any technical or social demands that may arise during program - Combining both the fun and energy of camp with the structure and respect of day school teachers - Supporting students using experience in Computer Science to teach students the fundamentals of. programming through various languages such as: Scratch, HTML, CSS & JavaScript * Qualifications: * - 1 year experience in education - 1 year in the afterschool/camp setting/leading a classroom - We can train you in our Computer Science curriculum if you have substantial teaching experience - Students & Educators studying for Degrees in Computer Science, Child and Adolescent Development, or related field preferred Job Type: Part-time Salary: $30.00 to $50.00 /hour Job Type: Part-time Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off Schedule: Monday to Friday Work Location: On the road
