SummaryThe CDL Class A Over-the-Road Driver is responsible for the safe, compliant, and timely transportation of architectural millwork products to jobsites and warehouse locations across the United States. This role supports Allegheny Millwork's Logistics Department and is integral to maintaining product quality, delivery accuracy, and customer satisfaction.The driver is accountable for vehicle operation, load securement, material handling, regulatory compliance, and professional representation of Allegheny Millwork and Allegheny Logistics. This position operates company-provided sleeper trucks and associated equipment and must adhere to all DOT/FMCSA regulations, federal, state, and local laws, and company safety policies.Roles & ResponsibilitiesOperate long-distance, over-the-road commercial motor vehicles in a safe and professional mannerTransport architectural millwork materials to designated jobsites and warehouse locations in accordance with delivery schedulesLoad and unload materials using appropriate lifting techniques and material-handling equipmentEnsure all cargo is properly secured, protected, and maintained throughout transportConduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, and related equipmentMaintain accurate daily driving logs, electronic logs (ELDs), and required DOT documentationCommunicate regularly with the Logistics Manager, Shipping Supervisor, and jobsite Superintendents regarding delivery status, issues, or delaysFollow all DOT/FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and company safety standardsAdhere to vehicle, trailer, and equipment maintenance schedules and report mechanical issues promptlyOperate forklifts and electric pallet jacks at Allegheny facilities as requiredQualifications & SkillStrong time management and organizational skillsClear and professional communication skillsAttention to detail and commitment to safetyDependability and accountabilityAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionValid CDL Class A licenseClean driving record with no major violationsAbility to pass required background checks and drug/alcohol screeningsDemonstrated knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and compliance requirementsFamiliarity with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles for extended hours and long distancesAbility to maneuver, back up, and park commercial trailers up to 53 feet in lengthAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 poundsAbility to work in variable weather conditions and jobsite environmentsAdhere rolling monthly scheduleTypically 5-6 days per week of driving and travelDays off vary based on hours-of-service requirements, mandatory rest periods, and log resetsEducation & ExperienceEducation: High School diploma or GED required.Experience: Minimum two (2) years of over-the-road commercial driving experiencePhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Sitting: The role requires sitting for extended periods of time.
