Job : Network Engineer (Infrastructure Administrator)Location : Galveston, TX 77550 OnsiteDuration : Full timeKey ResponsibilitiesConfigure, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, and VPNsTroubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across wired and wireless environmentsMonitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, FortiCloud, or similarConfigure and manage enterprise firewalls, including routing, VPN connectivity, and security policiesPerform firmware updates, patching, and system maintenance across network devicesSupport both virtual and physical server environments as neededMaintain accurate documentation related to network configurations, topology, and changesAssist with evaluating system performance and identifying opportunities for improvementRequired Experience & Skills3–6 years of hands-on experience in network administration or network engineeringStrong experience with routing, switching, and network troubleshootingExperience configuring firewalls (Fortinet preferred, but not required)Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, and network protocolsExperience with VPN configuration and network security best practicesAbility to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues independentlyMust have or be able to obtain a valid Texas driver’s licensePreferred ExperienceExperience with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate, FortiCloud)Familiarity with Cisco networking technologiesExperience with wireless networking and VOIP systemsExposure to VMware or virtualized environmentsKnowledge of Active Directory in a hybrid environmentWhat Makes This Opportunity Stand OutLong-term, stable opportunity within a municipal environmentStrong benefits package, including highly competitive health insuranceOpportunity to work on critical infrastructure systems with real impactSmall, collaborative team with strong leadership and growth potential
