Strategic Global Sourcing Intern

The Strategic Global Sourcing Intern will gain hands-on experience across key sourcing and supplier management activities in a dynamic, people-focused, global organization. This role partners closely with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional teams to support sourcing strategies, supplier development, and process improvement initiatives. The intern will contribute to new product development activities, supplier qualification, cost and quote analysis, and procurement for development builds while building analytical, communication, and professional skills. This position provides exposure to strategic sourcing operations and opportunities to develop leadership capabilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in various supply chain functions while networking within a dynamic, people focused environment. The position will interact with various suppliers, internal customers, and analysts on a daily basis while improving processes and execution across a growing, global organization.You are responsible for a number of diverse functions within the organization. While upholding a primary focus on sourcing, supplier management, and supplier development, the group is responsible for maintaining an agile and aggressive supply base while procuring high quality goods at a fair and competitive price.This position is based onsite at our headquarters in Waukesha, WI.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in cross-functional meetings to support new product development initiativesAssist with supplier qualification and part approval processes (e.g., PPAPs)Research and compare supplier quotes to support sourcing decisionsProcure and track parts for development builds and prototypesCommunicate with suppliers on part status and delivery updatesConduct research on supply chain and sourcing structures to support strategic initiativesSupport process improvement projects and other tasks as assignedBasic QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related degree programPreferred QualificationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WordStrong organizational and analytical skillsTeam-oriented with a proactive, innovative mindsetHigh ethical standards and interest in leadership developmentExperience with SAP, Ariba, or APICS/MAPICS coursework is a plus
