Academic Coordinator/Residential Counselor Full Time

Join us to make a real impact in a supportive, mission-driven environment.The Academic Coordinator/Residential Counselor role is located in Woodland Hills, CA at our newly launching six bed residential treatment program for autistic teens. This position blends providing direct care to autistic teens with working with teens and families and coordinating academic support while in treatment. You’ll work alongside a collaborative, mission-driven team in a supportive residential treatment setting.This position is a full time onsite role from 10am - 6:30pm Monday - Friday.Payrate: $25/hourAcademic Coordinator (50% of role)Partner with a multidisciplinary team to support students’ academic successDevelop individualized learning plans and goals for each clientProvide 1:1 tutoring and create positive learning experiencesCollaborate with families and schools, including participation in IEP/504 meetingsHelp parents advocate for their child’s educational needsCoordinate with teachers and counselors to ensure academic continuityProvide weekly academic progress updates to familiesInterpret transcripts and guide families on options such as GED, virtual school, community college, and vocational programsFacilitate study skills groups as neededComplete necessary documentation and communication with stakeholdersResidential Counselor (50% of role)Provide direct supervision and ensure client safety at all timesBuild supportive relationships while maintaining professional boundariesGuide clients through daily schedules, enforce program expectationsImplement individualized behavioral interventions and safety protocolsConduct risk assessments, body/room checks, and document observationsFacilitate psychoeducational groups and complete required notesCommunicate effectively during shift changes Participate in weekly Treatment Team meetings and trainingsTransport clients to appointments and outings using a company vehicleMaintain a clean, organized, and therapeutic environmentReport clinical, medical, or safety concerns to the appropriate team membersComplete documentation in Kipu and any required incident or mandated reportsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related fieldComfortable tutoring High School English and Algebra IPassion for supporting teens with mental health needsAbility to remain calm and effective in crisis situationsStrong organizational, communication, and time management skillsKnowledge of IEP and 504 plans, or willingness to learnAbility to pass LiveScan and all required background checksWillingness to work on-site in Woodland Hills and interact with COVID-positive clients if neededValid driver’s license and ability to transport clientsPreferred QualificationsExperience tutoring middle or high school studentsExperience working with autistic adolescentsBackground in customer service or youth-focused rolesFor information on Evolve's privacy practices, see the Evolve California Personnel Privacy Notice located at https://evolvetreatment.com/personnel-privacy-notice/
