CAD/CAM Programmer

Job Responsibilities Create CNC files for a variety of CNC machines using established detailed criteria. Review sales work orders for accuracy and communicate if errors are found. Review artwork for accuracy and communicate if errors are found. Field questions about designs from sales staff & production. Determine the sequence of machine operations and select proper cutting tools. Determine reference points & machine cutting paths Calculate dimensions of work pieces & products. Create documents used by machine operators. Determine machine settings. Use 3D and/or 2D computer assisted design/drafting software to develop designs of new and existing products. Draft fully detailed multi-view shop drawings from sketches and order information provided by customers. Maintain and follow Drafting and Engineering Standards. Maintain an organized file system for production drawings. Maintain revisions of files. Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. Work independently or as part of a team depending on the project needs. Read drawings (2D & 3D) to produce accurate files. Software Knowledge to include SolidWorks, Flexi and Enroute preferred. Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with coworkers and other departments. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team required. Qualifications: Knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D Modeling Software preferred. Knowledge of Graphite or AutoCAD 2D drawing experience preferred.
