The Sales Assistant, Client Services provides day-to-day support for Macmillan’s distribution team, partnering closely with Sales, Operations, and Clients to ensure accurate materials, strong title setup, and smooth execution across the publishing cycles. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in learning the fundamentals of sales and distribution in publishing.What You'll DoSales Materials & Launch SupportPrepare materials for launch meetings, including pulling tip sheets and publication schedulesSupport Sales Conference readiness by ensuring titles are updated to NYP status and confirmed in BiblioConduct seasonal audits to confirm metadata (descriptions, covers, carton quantities) is complete and accurate across systems, including EdelweissPull and organize Edelweiss collections as neededInventory & Title ManagementAssist with weekly reporting by pulling P&B (print and bind) and reprint detail sheetsMaintain seasonal P&B dates in BiblioPlace titles on reserve to support preorder campaignsCoordinate bindery orders and templates with Operations and publishing partnersSales Materials CoordinationAct as a point of contact for sales materials requests, ensuring timely follow-up and deliveryTrack requests and communicate updates to internal stakeholdersReporting & CommunicationRun and distribute weekly sales and inventory (on-hand) reportsPrepare and send change memos to communicate updatesTeam SupportProvide administrative and project support to the Client Services teamsContribute to additional projects and team initiatives as neededWhat You'll BringStrong organizational skills and attention to detailClear and effective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProactive, with strong follow-up skillsComfortable working both independently and collaborativelyInterest in publishing, sales, or client services a plusThis role will have an annual salary of $50,000.This position is classified as remote but is tied to our New York, NY office located at 120 Broadway. Employment is subject to New York State tax withholding under applicable regulations.
