Compensation$68,495 - $87,298Compensation TypeSalaryEmployment TypeRegularGradeE09Position SummaryThe Network Administrator administers the daily operations, design, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of Central New Mexico Community College’s (CNM) digital network, including but not limited to the data, voice, and video communications of the college. This position must pass a criminal background check.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintains LAN/WAN, including wireless, network connectivity at all CNM campuses and includes:troubleshooting problemscoordinating efforts of managed servicescommunications vendorsworking closely with CNM staff who use network servicesAssists in developing and maintaining network documentation; utilizes applicable software applications to develop and modify construction documents and drawings, and to generate detailed plans.Participates in projects to perform LAN/WAN implementations, upgrades and conversion projects.Works on related projects which includes planning, design, testing and implementation, and often includes coordination of all CNM staff involved in the project, oversight of contractors and involvement in procurement activities.Participates in training opportunities for network administrators to maintain qualifications to work with current technologies in use at CNM.Monitors network performance and security, identifying and resolving issues proactively.Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.Implement and enforce network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.Provide technical support and guidance to users on network-related matters, troubleshooting issues as needed.Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to plan and execute network projects and initiatives and troubleshoots with other CNM ITS groups.Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes.Stays current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network administration.Participate in on-call rotation and incident response activities as required.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of related experienceORAssociate’s Degree and five (5) years of related experienceDegrees in Computer Science or a related field are preferredApply by/Best Consideration: 5/22/2026Eeo StatementAs an EEO employer, Central New Mexico Community College will not discriminate in our employment practices based on an applicant’s race, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, serious medical condition or status as a protected veteran or spousal affiliation.
