Mechanical Design Engineer
Overview
In this role you design and refine mechanical products from prototype to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and robust documentation. You work hands-on with detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings, supporting ECOs, BOMs, and quality/manufacturing documentation. You will help establish modeling and drafting standards and ensure designs align with production needs. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with engineers and cross-functional product development teams on new technology and product initiativesDesign and revise detailed 3D CAD models for prototype and production systemsCreate and maintain technical drawings for machined components, sheet metal, tubing, plastics/composites, and electromechanical assembliesSupport product development through engineering change orders (ECOs), revisions, and configuration managementDevelop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), product specification sheets, and technical documentationPrepare and update quality assurance and manufacturing support documentationMaintain organized CAD libraries and engineering documentation using Autodesk Inventor and VaultHelp establish and improve company-wide modeling and drafting standardsWork closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and production-ready
Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineMinimum 3.3 GPA for all completed degrees2+ years of mechanical product design and drafting experienceStrong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processesExperience creating detailed technical drawings and applying GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5)Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 2024 or newerExperience with Autodesk Vault 2024 or newer (preferred)Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation practicesAbility to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environmentU.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR restrictionsAttention to detailOrganizationDocumentation practicesAutodesk Inventor 2024+Autodesk Vault 2024+GD&T ASME Y14.5
