Mechanical Sub-Systems Engineer
Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI) is seeking a full-time experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to support DoD aircraft platforms. The engineer will assist in the design, execution, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and modifications on a variety of DoD aircraft platforms.Responsibilities Develop detailed solutions for technical, operational, and maintenance problemsAssist maintenance in troubleshootingThe rigging of aircraft control systemsAircraft hydraulic repairs and malfunctionsAircraft fire detection and suppression system repairs and malfunctionsAircraft fuel system repairs and malfunctionsAircraft pressurization system repairs and malfunctionsPresent technical findings to management or teamEnsure repairs are compliant with approved naval aviation maintenance policiesPerform engineering investigations of failed aircraft components and systemsProvide disposition for obsolete aircraft system componentsDetermine criticality of aircraft system components by performing failure mode effects and criticality analysisReview technical publication deficiency reports and update publications as necessaryEnsure aircraft operates properly and safelyDraw and read blueprints, give material estimates and time required for repairsDetermine aircraft airworthinessApply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, develop, implement, test, and evaluate projects within the mechanical engineering disciplineReview and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, and other technical documentationUp to 10% travel may be requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in aerospace, aerodynamics, mechanical, or electrical engineering from an accredited college or universityAt least 4 years of mechanical systems engineering work experience within the aviation, aerospace, or defense industryFamiliarity with the troubleshooting and integration of test equipment, electrical/power, air conditioning, cabin pressure, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in aircraftExperience in reading, creating, and editing drawings in AutoCAD (or similar CAD program) and work instructions in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat productsExperience in prototyping and validating installationsAbility to use Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)Effective communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications5-10 years of mechanical systems engineering work experience within the aviation, aerospace, or defense industrySelf-motivator capable of working through problems independentlyAt ASI, we understand that everyone’s journey is different.
