Fiber Optic Splicer Position Type: Full-Time Shift Availability: Day and Night Shifts Required (Flexible Schedule Needed)Position OverviewOur client is hiring an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer to assist with telecommunications infrastructure initiatives. This role is best suited for a technician with practical experience in both outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) fiber environments, along with strong troubleshooting capabilities and a focus on safety, precision, and quality execution.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform fiber optic splicing activities in both OSP and ISP settings, including ribbon splicing, ribbonizing, and ribbon splitting within 288 and 428 fiber configurationsComplete splicing work within live network environments while minimizing downtime and maintaining service integrityConduct OTDR testing, analyze test results, and diagnose signal loss or network faultsTroubleshoot fiber connectivity issues and perform appropriate repair and restoration proceduresOperate, maintain, and properly handle fiber optic equipment including fusion splicers, mechanical splicers, cleavers, OTDR devices, and power metersUtilize industry-standard hand tools such as fiber strippers, buffer tube splitters, and cable ring tools to prepare and manage fiber cablingEnsure all work performed aligns with project specifications, company standards, and industry compliance requirementsMaintain accurate documentation, organized job sites, and proper equipment tracking and inventoryQualificationsMinimum of 2 years of hands-on fiber optic splicing experienceStrong working knowledge of fusion splicing equipment, OTDR testing, power meters, and other fiber optic toolsPrevious experience with fiber optic cable installation preferredMust have experience working with live enclosuresValid driver's license required, along with the ability to meet all driving, safety, medical, and drug screening requirementsReliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environmentMust be at least 18 years of age
