Controller (Projects Accounting) - Construction

POSITION SUMMMARY: We are looking for Controller to assist in our accounting functions. A qualified candidate must have relevant experience working for a multi-faceted organization, possess strong technical accounting skills, excellent knowledge of GAAP and be willing to take a hands-on approach. The Controller contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing the day-to-day tasks within the accounting department. This position reports to the VP of Finance, and will work in the Ashburn, VA office. Responsibilities Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements are prepare in accordance with U.S. GAAP Execute month end procedures in order to produce financial and management reports Lead general ledger accounting function for multiple subsidiaries Manage accounts receivable function and personnel including: customer billing, sales tax/VAT compliance and reporting and cash collection forecasts Coordinate and complete annual financial statement audit Perform revenue recognition procedures within NetSuite ERP Ensure compliance of financial policies and procedures QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, required 10+ years of general accounting, with experience supervising people Certified Public Accountant (CPA), required Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition Experience in NetSuite or similar ERP. Strong Excel and reporting skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills This is a full-time salaried position. Compensation commensurate with experience.
