Role PurposeThe FP&A, Business Operations Support Specialist is a hybrid finance and operations systems role responsible for supporting core accounting and FP&A processes while acting as the dedicated FieldFX Super Admin for Metals NDT’s order-to-cash platform.This role is designed to:Strengthen financial discipline through consistent execution of accounting and FP&A responsibilitiesProvide timely financial insights and light modeling supportEnsure real-time operational continuity by supporting FieldFX users across quoting, scheduling, dispatching, job tickets, and invoicingA key success factor is the ability to rapidly respond to operational needs (30–40% of the workload) while maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of financial processes. Primary ResponsibilitiesFP&A & Accounting (60%–70%)Month-End Close Support (~25% of workload)Prepare journal entries and system interfaces within accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks)Support timely and accurate close for multiple entitiesGeneral Ledger & Reconciliations (~15%)Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliationsEnsure completeness, accuracy, and consistency across entitiesBudgeting, Forecasting & Light Modeling (~10%) Maintain and update monthly budget vs. actual reportsSupport forecasting processes and ad hoc modeling requestsProvide foundational data to enable management analysisExpense Reporting & Credit Card Administration (~15%) Support Concur reporting and expense trackingProvide spend visibility and reporting to leadershipBilling & Payroll Support (~5%) Crosstrain and provide coverage for billing and payroll functionsAssist with workload balancing and continuity in team operationsRegulatory & Audit Support (~5%)Assist with tax compliance and reportingSupport external audit requests and documentation FieldFX Super Admin / Business Operations Support (30%–40%)Serve as the primary FieldFX system administrator and internal support leadProvide immediate, real-time support to operations teams to prevent workflow disruptionSupport and troubleshoot across the full order-to-cash lifecycle, including:Quoting and estimatingProject schedulingDispatchingJob ticket managementInvoicingMaintain system integrity, configurations, and user accessIdentify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements within FieldFX workflowsPartner closely with operations, billing, and finance teams to ensure seamless system usageSupport FieldFX KPI tracking and reporting capabilities Key Success FactorsAbility to balance structured financial responsibilities with urgent operational support needsResponsiveness and service-oriented mindset toward field and operations teamsStrong attention to detail in accounting processesSystems aptitude with the ability to learn and manage an enterprise platformContinuous improvement mindset across financial and operational workflows Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field2–5+ years of experience in FP&A, accounting, or business operations supportStrong working knowledge of: General ledger accountingMonth-end close processesFinancial reporting and reconciliationsIntermediate to advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, data analysis)Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks or similar)Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred QualificationsExperience with FieldFX or similar operational/ERP platformsBackground supporting order-to-cash workflowsExposure to industrial services, oil & gas, or field services environmentsExperience with expense platforms (e.g., Concur)Familiarity with GAAP and audit processes Work Environment & ExpectationsOn-site role at Abilene, TX headquarters (no remote option)Must be available during business hours to support real-time operational needsOccasional extended hours may be required during month-end close or critical operational periodsImpact of the RoleBy successfully executing this role, the FP&A & FieldFX Business Operations Support Specialist will:Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial operationsEnable uninterrupted execution of core business workflows through FieldFXImprove visibility into financial performance and operational metrics
