Production Support Engineer

Job Title: Production Support EngineerLocation: Miami, FloridaType: FulltimeThe Corporate Technology DevOps team is responsible for production support and ownership of critical applications which face off to the Middle Office, Operations, and Treasury teams primarily. These applications contribute to the firm’s PnL calculations, risk management and regulatory reporting.The Corporate Technology DevOps team will be working very closely with development to ensure that the environment is stable, resilient, and new features and functionality is delivered in a timely fashion. This team is also responsible to ensure that the L1 support team is armed with the proper knowledge, tools, and documentation to be able to support the day-to-day issues or alerts which may come up in production.Principal Responsibilities:End to end ownership of the production environmentInfrastructure managementRelease planning and deploymentIncident and problem managementCapacity Planning / BCP TestingBuild strong relationships with development and end-users/clientsFoster the DevOps cultureFocus on client service and deliveryBecome the go-to person for your area of responsibilityBuild subject matter expertiseCross train L1 team and other DevOps teamsQualifications/Skills Required:Minimum 5+ years’ experience supporting an enterprise environmentBackground in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalentMust have previous experience supporting business facing applicationsTechnical SkillsStrong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Perl, etc)Python preferredExcellent SQL skills and knowledge of various database systemsMust be able to run and understand complex queriesAbility to support both Windows and Unix/Linux environmentsExposure to the following: AWS, CI/CD, RabbitMQ and KafkaSoft Skills:Strong verbal and written communication skillsAble to communicate complex problemsUnderstands how to tailor communication based on the audienceHighly analytical with excellent problem solving abilityMust have a sense of urgency and strong ownershipSelf-starter with ability to quickly pick up new concepts and technologiesStrong organization and project management skills
