Lead Nurse (2026-27)
Primary PurposeCollaborate with the Director of Counseling and Student Services and partner Lead Nurse of Health Services to coordinate and manage the district health services program by promoting, improving and maintaining student and staff health. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.QualificationsEducation/Certification/LicensureBachelor's of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or universityCPR/AED certificationTexas certification for Vision and Hearing certification, instructor preferredSpecial Knowledge/SkillsAbility to implement district policies and proceduresAbility to manage personnel and budgetsAbility to identify emerging issues involving school healthAbility to promote wellness through district health services programStrong organizational, communication, public relations and interpersonal skillsExperienceExperience equivalent to five years in nursing/health administration related workExperience as a school nurse for 2+ years.Major Responsibilities and DutiesParticipate in planning, implementing and evaluating the health services program at district and campus levels, in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Health Services.Work to create and leverage partnerships with local physicians to provide standing orders and professional learning opportunities for nursing staff.Participate in developing and implementing district wellness policies in collaboration with the Director of Counseling and Student Services and partner Lead Nurse of Health Services.Participate in the review and planning of implementation of health-related policies and procedures in compliance with state mandates and current health practices.Monitor and interpret Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS), TEA regulations,and Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (BON) related to nursing practice, health and student welfare.Collaborate with the partner Lead Nurse of Health Services to plan and coordinate nursing staff development and in-service training, including orientation ofnew nurse and clinic Establish and implement procedures to ensure compliance with TACs, state immunizationlaws, and health screening requirements as directed by the Assistant Director of Health Services.Provide supervision, leadership and problem solving for the delivery of nursing care to campusProvide supervision, leadership, and support for district wide LVN's.Assist with the selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and supplies .Serve as a member of the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC)Serve on district critical incident response teamServe as a resource to campus principals and administration in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting school nurses.Serve as a resource for modification of school programs to meet the special health needs of studentsServe as a resource for the development of individualized healthcare plans and emergency care plans for students with special health needsServe as a resource for promoting wellness, safety and disease prevention for district employeesCoordinate health services activities with other district administrators and departments.Assist with planning and implementation of the district employee wellnessCollaborate with other departments to develop, implement, review and update health related issues such as bloodborne pathogen plan, disaster and crisis planning (health concerns related to lock down/shelter in place; pandemic diseases, etc), and maintaining district AED .Exhibit CCISD Core Values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, andActively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear CreekStay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to takingParticipate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and contentDemonstrates proficient levels of technologyParticipates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.Utilize time wisely for effective management of jobMaintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, andMeet task completion deadlines established byMaintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.Working ConditionsMental DemandsMaintain emotional control under stressPhysical Demands/Environmental FactorsExposure to bacteria and communicable diseases; frequent standing, stooping, bending, moving medical equipment and other clinic materials
