Investigative Support Officer - Digital Forensics UnitAre you analytical, detail-driven, and motivated to support criminal investigations? Join CPD as an Investigative Support Officer within the Digital Forensics Unit and play a vital role in advancing investigative efforts through the analysis of digital evidence.This position plays a critical role in criminal investigations by conducting the identification, preservation, and analysis of digital evidence in accordance with established forensic and investigative standards.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct forensic extractions and examinations of electronic devices, including cellular phonesIdentify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence to support criminal investigations and case developmentReview and assess large volumes of data to identify relevant evidence and investigative leadsDetect patterns, connections, and inconsistencies to support investigative findingsPrepare clear, accurate, and detailed reports for investigative and legal purposesCollaborate with detectives and investigative personnel on active and complex casesEnsure all digital evidence is handled and processed in compliance with established procedures and evidentiary standards What We're Looking ForStrong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex informationHigh attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential informationAbility to evaluate data, identify patterns, and draw logical, evidence-based conclusionsStrong written and verbal communication skillsInterest or experience in digital forensics, criminal investigations, or a related field preferred Required QualificationsVOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT : High School diploma, GED / HSE or equivalent, completion of a DCJS certified law enforcement academy. Concentration in Psychology, Criminal Justice, or Administration of Justice preferred.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : Two or more years experience as a law enforcement officerSPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : Cellbrite Certified Operator and/or Analyst.Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.Preferred QualificationsTwo years of experience conducting digital forensic downloads of electronicsMinimum of 2 years of law enforcementVCIN certification or ability to obtainCertified Cellbrite Operator/Analyst and/or Graykey Magnet Certified examiner
