Senior Accountant - Liabilities-2 Senior Accountant for Liabilities will report directly to the Liabilities Manager. This position is responsible for review and maintenance of all MUSC leases through communication with the real estate office, as well as compliance with GASB and FASB standards for leases. Also responsible for pension and other post employment benefit calculations, reconciling deferred inflows and outflows, long-term debt calculations and the payroll liability accounts.Entity: Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA)Worker Type: EmployeeWorker Sub-Type: RegularCost Center: CC001119 SYS - Corp Fiscal ServicesPay Rate Type: SalaryPay Grade: Health-29Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Responsibilities include:Regular review and maintenance of all leases for the organization.Reconciliation of cash payments to the general ledger.Coordination with Accounts Payable for lease payments.Presentation of lease accounting calculations.Proficiency with lease accounting software.Maintenance of regular review of leases.Delivery of ad hoc lease calculations or reports.Month-end entries for interest, leases, pension, and OPEB.Assistance with year-end audit.Calculation of pension and other postemployment benefit (OPEB) calculations.A bachelor's degree in a business-related field and four (4) years work experience in a business-related area such as accounting, business, audit or finance is required. Strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Outlook software; Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat software is a plus.
