The role involves managing patients with IABPs, Impellas, VADs, pacemakers, and those requiring CRRT/Dialysis and hemodynamic monitoring. The RN will administer medications, perform various procedures, and collaborate with the healthcare team.Location:Seattle, Washington, United StatesResponsibilities:- Provide care for patients with cardiovascular disease, including pre/post Cath Lab and IR procedures, and fresh open-heart surgery.- Manage patients with IABPs, Impellas, VADs, pacemakers, and epicardial pacer management.- Administer medications, including blood and blood products.- Perform cardioversion/defibrillation and cooling/warming procedures.- Obtain 12-lead EKGs.- Perform sheath removals.- Manage patients on CRRT/Dialysis.- Perform hemodynamic monitoring.- Administer breathing treatments and chest tube care.- Manage patients on CPAP/BiPap and ventilators, including high-frequency vents.- Administer procedural sedation and assist with RSI.- Provide trach care.- Monitor and manage surgical wounds with drains/wound vacs.- Adhere to infection prevention and isolation precautions.- Document patient care in EPIC.Required Skills & Certifications:- Active Registered Nurse license.- ACLS and BCLS certifications.- CRRT Prismaflex certification.- 2.5 years of CVICU experience within the last 6 months.- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.- Multi-system organ failure management.- Sheath Removal skills.- IV insulin protocols.- CVVHD/CRRT skills.- Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.- Continuous IV sedation, Procedural Sedation Administration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips.- Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun experience.- Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management.- Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac.- IABP and fresh open-heart experience.Preferred Skills & Certifications:- Neuro Intensive Care Unit or Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience.- ECMO and Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR) experience.- Chronic/Acute Renal failure experience.- CVA/Acute Stroke management experience.- Phlebotomy skills.- EPIC charting experience.- Maquet Datascope Balloon experience.Special Considerations:- Must be willing to float.- Cardiac Surgical experience is REQUIRED.- Unit has unseasoned staff, so strong travelers are needed.- Perm candidates of other facilities must be separated for at least 3 months to be eligible for a travel contract.Scheduling:- Not specified.
