All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.Description: A Line Cook is responsible for a high level of consistent meals according to recipes and standards, always keeping a clean and sanitized work area and exhibiting impeccable food presentation and garnishing, leading to exceeding guest expectations and creating repeat business.Job Responsibilities:Set up stations and collect all necessary mise en plais to prepare menu for serviceWeigh and measure ingredients for cookingPrepare a variety of foods including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable and cold food itemsPrepare sauces and garnishes for allocated stationCover, date and correctly store all food items as per safe food-handling proceduresInform chef in advance of likely shortagesEnsure the correct temperature of foodTaste all food items for quality before servingUse food preparation tools in accordance with manufacturers instructionsClose the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stationsMaintain an organized and sanitized work area at all timesConstantly use safe and hygienic food handling practicesReturn dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areasAssist staff with other duties as assigned by kitchen managerSanitize refrigerators and storeroomsOperate and maintain all kinds of kitchen appliancesPerform record keeping and reports generation dutiesOrder and take delivery of food and suppliesReport any unforeseen circumstances, maintenance needs or faulty equipment to the managerMaintain outstanding working relationships with staff, guests and supervisorsPerforms other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by managementJob Qualifications:High School graduate or equivalent vocational trainingStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.Punctuality and reliable attendance.Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.Proper food safety training and certification as described by lawAbility to lift 60 lbs and stand for long periods of timeHigh level of professionalismLocation: Hotel MorganReq Number: FOO-26-00085This position is currently accepting applications.
