Executive DirectorThe Parenting PlaceLocation: Upstate South CarolinaJob Type: Full-Time, SalariedSalary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 annuallyReports To: Board of DirectorsSupervises: All StaffAbout The Parenting PlaceThe Parenting Place is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect while strengthening families through evidence-based parenting support, counseling, home visitation, and community collaboration. Our programs include Healthy Families Foothills, Counseling & Support Services, and community-based prevention initiatives that promote healthy, happy childhoods across the Upstate of South Carolina.Position SummaryThe Executive Director serves as the chief administrator of the organization under the direction of the Board of Directors. This leader is responsible for overseeing all organizational operations, programs, financial management, strategic growth, fundraising, staff leadership, and community partnerships.The ideal candidate is a mission-driven leader with strong nonprofit management experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to inspire teams, cultivate donors, and build collaborative community relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesOrganizational Leadership & AdministrationProvide strategic and operational leadership for all agency programs and servicesSupervise and support all staff members while fostering a positive and collaborative work cultureLead weekly staff meetings and bi-annual strategic planning meetingsEnsure compliance with organizational policies, contracts, grants, and best practicesMaintain personnel files, evaluations, and professional development recordsWork collaboratively with the Board of Directors to support governance and strategic planningAttend all Board meetings and prepare monthly operational and financial reportsFinancial Management & Fund DevelopmentDevelop and administer annual organizational budgets and grant budgetsOversee financial reporting, recordkeeping, audits, and fiscal accountabilityLead fundraising efforts including grants, donor development, sponsorships, and community partnershipsWrite grants and pursue contracts supporting agency programs and servicesCultivate relationships with businesses, foundations, churches, and community leadersProgram OversightOversee all prevention, counseling, and Healthy Families Foothills programmingEnsure fidelity to evidence-based program models and data systemsCollaborate with national and state research partners on grant initiatives, data collection, and quality improvementSupport ongoing staff training, supervision, and leadership developmentEnsure quality assurance and continuous improvement across all servicesCommunity Engagement & AdvocacyServe as a public spokesperson for the organization and its missionBuild collaborative partnerships with healthcare providers, schools, agencies, and community organizationsSpeak at community events, churches, businesses, and professional meetingsWork with staff and leadership to strengthen organizational branding, outreach, and visibilityMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree requiredMinimum of 5 years of management experienceExperience working within culturally diverse communities and organizationsStrong leadership, communication, and team-building skillsDemonstrated experience in fundraising, philanthropy, and donor developmentExperience with public speaking, strategic communications, and community engagementKnowledge of public policy advocacy and nonprofit operationsProficiency in Microsoft Office and organizational management systemsPreferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or related fieldExperience serving as an Executive Director or senior nonprofit leaderExperience in child abuse prevention, family services, home visitation, or early childhood programsKnowledge of Healthy Families America, Triple P, or similar evidence-based modelsBilingual Spanish/EnglishExperience working with Boards of DirectorsExperience with major gifts, capital campaigns, grant management, and nonprofit fiscal oversightExperience with marketing, public relations, and community outreachIdeal CandidateThe successful candidate will demonstrate:Passion for strengthening families and preventing child abuseStrong organizational and strategic leadership abilitiesA collaborative, team-oriented leadership styleAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentCommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead with empathy, accountability, and professionalismPhysical & Work EnvironmentPrimarily office-based in a professional work environmentOccasional standing, walking, and community travel requiredAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic settingBenefitsBenefits may include:Paid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesFlexible and supportive work environmentOpportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and familiesHow to ApplyInterested candidates should submit to cwilli2023@gmail.com:ResumeCover letterThree professional referencesApplications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.We are committed to providing equal opportunities and do not discriminate against applicants or employees based on protected characteristics such as race, gender, religion, age, or disability.
