Join us.About the Team:The Manufacturing team at Relativity Space is currently deep in manufacturing trades and process development for Terran R, our next generation, reusable rocket. This team has a wide variety of responsibilities-from determining the most efficient factory floor layout, to developing and implementing complex tooling and processes, and even interfacing with the vehicle engineering team to heavily influence the design of the rocket. Unique to Relativity, you will get to work across many teams to iterate and support development of the vehicle program.This role will be for our 2nd shift Supervisor, Tank Fabrication with the following hours: 3:00 PM PST - 1:30 AM PST.About the Role:In this role, the tank fabrication supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in building barrel and tank assemblies from raw sheet metal to final tank structural assembly. The processes this supervisor will be responsible for will be machining, roll forming, and friction stir welding (both vertical and circumferential). Within these processes, this supervisor is accountable for maintaining high quality standards, meeting production schedules, and implementing process improvements. This supervisor will also need to be able to drive an inclusive team environment for technicians reporting to them as well as with our cross functional partners such as engineering, quality, and production control.\nExecute production schedules across machining, roll forming, and FSW processes\nHelp establish process standards and hold technician team accountable to these processes to ensure quality is maintained\nMentor technician team by providing timely feedback, conducting performance reviews, identifying talent gaps, and conducting regular 1:1s\nCommunicate daily/weekly progress to upper management including any blockers with proposed solutions\nLead hiring initiatives to grow the team to meet our Terran R production rate\nFoster a team culture that supports honesty, transparency, and accountability\n\nAbout You:\nPrevious manufacturing leadership experience with a track record of executing aggressive production schedules\n3+ years experience in either machining, roll forming, or FSW operations\n3+ years experience with rigging and crane operations with the ability to act as a lift director\nExperience partnering with cross functional team such as manufacturing engineering, quality, and production control\nSelf starter with a demonstrated ability to take full ownership of the production areas under their span of control\n\nNice to haves, but not required:\n3+ years working in an aerospace field\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office products and/or Smartsheets\n\nAt Relativity Space, we are committed to transparency and fairness in our compensation practices.
