Electrical/Software Engineer

_Fischer Panda_ is a globally recognized manufacturer of diesel generators, hybrid, and drive systems for mobile marine, vehicle, and military applications. We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and talented *Electrical/Software Engineer* to help us continue to lead in embedded hardware and software innovation. *Job Description* We are seeking a skilled *Electrical/Software Engineer* to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded control solutions for our diesel generators. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure our products meet high standards of reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations. *Key Responsibilities* * Design and implement embedded hardware and software for diesel generator control systems using C other relevant languages. * Develop Widows application software for our EOL test systems and production * Interface with hardware components including sensors, actuators, CANbus, Modbus, and other protocols. * Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to integrate software with generator systems. * Write and execute software test plans, conduct debugging, and troubleshoot hardware/software issues. * Ensure software meets applicable military, marine, and RV regulatory standards. * Maintain documentation and version control (Git, SVN, etc.). * Participate in field testing and provide support for production and service teams. *Required Qualifications* * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field. * 3+ years of experience developing embedded software, ideally in power systems or generator controls. * Proficiency in C and experience with embedded development tools (Keil, IAR, Eclipse, etc.). * Experience with microcontroller-based system design and hardware interfacing. * Familiarity with communication protocols such as CANbus, J1939, Modbus, RS-485, etc. * Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. * Profound knowledge of electronic development and design down to board level. Familiar with advanced ECAD systems (KiCAD, Pulsonix…) *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience in military, marine, or RV industry applications. * Knowledge of regulatory standards such as MIL-STD, ABYC, or RVIA codes. * Experience with power management systems or generator synchronization. * Knowledge of NI Labview or scripting tools for testing and automation. * Security clearance (or eligibility) for military-related projects is a plus.
