Director of Nursing
Job Title: DONLocation: Milford, CTPosition SummaryOverseeing clinical operations within a 120-bed skilled nursing facility. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision of approximately 80 nursing staff. The ADNS plays a key leadership role in staff development, clinical excellence, and maintaining a positive, resident-centered environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise, support, and provide leadership to a team of approximately 80 nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAsEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS guidelinesMonitor and maintain quality of care standards and implement performance improvement initiativesParticipate in hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff developmentConduct routine audits, chart reviews, and clinical rounds to ensure quality and complianceAssist in scheduling and staffing to ensure appropriate coverage and efficiencyInvestigate incidents, complaints, and concerns, and implement corrective actions as neededSupport infection control, risk management, and safety programsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, resident-centered careQualificationsActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in CTMinimum of 3–5 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care settingPrior leadership or supervisory experience requiredStrong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey process, and long-term care complianceProven ability to manage staff, drive clinical outcomes, and improve quality measuresExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in a leadership role within a 100+ bed facilityBackground in infection control, QAPI, or staff educationBSN or advanced degree preferredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off (PTO)401(k) with company matchOpportunities for professional growth and advancementBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insuranceEducation:Bachelor's (Preferred)Experience:RN Management: 1 year (Preferred)LTC/Nursing Home: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:CT RN License (Required)
