Quality Engineer, Advanced Hardware Manufacturing
Expected compensation: 87.40 USD Per HourHireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Quality Engineer, Advanced Hardware Manufacturing to develop and implement quality systems, methodologies, and processes that ensure products meet engineering standards, specifications, and performance requirements.In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to support hardware development and manufacturing programs, where quality outcomes, teamwork, and execution are key to success.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments while meeting tight deadlines.As a Quality Engineer, Advanced Hardware Manufacturing, You'llServe as the primary quality point of contact across cross-functional teams for hardware development, sustaining engineering, and failure analysis (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, and complex electromechanical assemblies). Perform complex failure analysis and root cause investigations as part of non-conformance and CAPA processes. Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities and guide teams in developing quality documentation, including quality plans, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, validation reports, inspection reports, and submission warrants. Develop and implement Incoming (IQC), In-Process (IPQC), and Outgoing (OQC) quality control requirements, including defining performance metrics. Contribute to the development and implementation of procedures and processes aligned with industry quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001). Maintain and manage quality data and documentation within systems such as Jira, 3DX, and other internal tools. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes. Travel to the Fremont worksite as needed. RequirementsA bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering6+ years of hands-on experience in design or manufacturing qualityStrong technical and analytical experience in manufacturing environments (e.g., automotive, semiconductor, medical devices, aerospace, or complex electromechanical systems)Thorough understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and quality control fundamentalsStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of statistical tools (e.g., Minitab)Self-starter with a proactive, ownership-driven mindsetBonus QualificationsExperience with LiDAR, radar, sensors, cameras, or complex electromechanical assembliesExperience working in a startup environment and building or scaling QMS processesA master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineeringBenefitsPre-tax commuter benefits Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costsHireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance401k packageCommitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt.
