Aquatics Coordinator
Position Description:
The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for the continual direction and oversight of aquatics operations and programming. This role ensures that all aquatics facilities provide a safe and welcoming environment for participants. Working closely with administrative staff, the Coordinator will handle communications related to aquatics programs, address inquiries, and provide information to the general public, staff, patrons, and members. The Aquatics Coordinator will also oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all aquatics areas and work with staff to adapt to changing situations, ensuring smooth operations and positive customer experiences. Additionally, the Coordinator will perform lifeguard duties, including monitoring the pool to ensure the safety of all swimmers. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to work effectively as part of a team. The Coomes Recreation Center serves a diverse population, including youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.
Minimum Requirements:
Thorough knowledge and application of Lifeguard rescue techniques.
Must have at least three years of experience as a lifeguard.
Must have at least two years of experience teaching water safety classes.
Ability to teach all levels of swim lessons.
Certified Pool Operator certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
High School Diploma or GED, some college experience preferred.
