Schedule:Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PMOvertime is availablePaid holidays (no waiting period) Work Environment:Amelia, VAPrimary work environment is an indoor service and maintenance shop, with occasional field or outdoor work as needed.Specialty work on fire trucks and ambulances. Key Job Duties:Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air systemsPerforming preventative maintenance and repairs on fire trucks and ambulancesAccurately documenting repairs, labor time, and parts usageCompleting safety inspections and ensuring vehicles are ready for serviceMaintaining a clean, safe work area and following OSHA and company safety standardsAssisting other technicians as needed and working as part of a team What we're looking for:Diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy duty or emergency vehiclesElectrical diagnostic skills a plusValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation Who does well here:Mechanics who take pride in their workTeam players who also work well independentlyPeople who like variety and solving problemsTechnicians who value doing things the right way Work environment and physical demandsThis role includes standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing.The position involves exposure to typical shop conditions such as noise, odors, grease, and occasional outdoor weather.
