For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer II - AI Engineering (remote Eligible) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $175,000 – $245,000 annuallyResponsibilities Design and build LLM-powered agents and workflows within the company Develop and optimize prompts, RAG pipelines, and reasoning patterns Implement end-to-end AI systems on cloud infrastructure, focusing on performance and incident management Collaborate with various teams to translate business needs into AI solutions Mentor engineers on ML best practices and responsible AI development Establish standards for AI development and model governance Stay updated with the evolving AI and LLM landscape to assess new tools and frameworksQualifications 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years with LLMs in production Hands-on expertise in prompt and context engineering, understanding how input design alters model behavior Strong knowledge of RAG architectures and retrieval evaluation techniques Experience in building LLM evaluation frameworks and designing quality metrics Fluency in agent system design with the ability to engage in architectural discussions Proficient in Python and comfortable in data-heavy environments Skilled in communicating complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Strong cross-functional judgment and clarity in managing ambiguityBenefits Employer subsidized medical, vision, and dental coverage for full-time employees 401k Match up to the first 6% of eligible pay Monthly stipends to support productivity Flexible Time Away Program and Sick Time Off 12 paid holidays a year and up to 24 weeks of Parental Leave Personal paid Volunteer Day Opportunities for professional growth with access to online courses Company Funded Perks including counseling memberships and local discounts Teleworking options for flexibilityOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
