About the RoleThe Engineering Department is seeking a Project Manager to own capital project delivery across the facility's active capital program. The role sits within the Project Management Office and reports to the Engineering Manager. The Project Manager works alongside the Clerk of Works, project owners, and project engineers, all of whom feed into the PMO process.ResponsibilitiesProject scheduling and critical path management across all active capital projectsContractor and vendor performance managementScope of work development and maintenance for all capital projectsRisk and change register ownership for all active projectsFront-End Loading(FEL) support for new capital projects in collaboration with project engineersSAP project systems maintenance: Work Breakdown Structures, cost centers, and purchase order trackingWeekly project dashboard and monthly contractor performance reportingFormal project closeout documentation for every completed projectRequirements: Essential:PMP Certification - Active and Current5+ Years project management in heavy industrial or manufacturingDemonstrated delivery of capital projects of $5M or higherProficiency in Smartsheet, MS Project, or equivalentContractor and vendor performance management experienceSAP project systems experienceDesirable:Primary metals or smelting industry experienceFront-End Loading methodology experienceExperience in a unionized industrial environmentExperience building or strengthening a PMO functionWork of the Role Ownership of the project management function within a structured Engineering DepartmentExposure to a substantial annual capital program with direct accountability for outcomesA collaborative PMO structure working alongside experienced project engineersClear growth pathway within the organization as the capital program develop
