Electronics and Appliance RetailersElectronic and Precision Equipment Repair and MaintenanceHousehold Appliances and Electrical and Electronic Goods Merchant WholesalersScientific Research and Development ServicesConsumer Goods RentalCapeSym, Inc. is seeking an Electronics / Firmware Engineer to support the development of advanced precision instrumentation, from early-stage R&D prototypes through deployable commercial systems.This is a hands-on, on-site role for someone who enjoys working across the full product development cycle: microcontroller programming, circuit design, prototyping, testing, vendor coordination, PCB fabrication/assembly, and instrument integration.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram microcontrollers in C and assembly using Windows-based development toolsDesign, prototype, and test signal conditioning, digitization, and microcontroller circuitsWork with USART, I2C, SPI, USB, and related embedded communication interfacesBreadboard and evaluate test circuits for noise performance, power consumption, signal accuracy, and reliabilitySupport PCB fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, and manufacturing transferCoordinate with external vendors, contract manufacturers, and component suppliersMaintain component inventory and support purchasing activitiesWork closely with scientists and software developers to build research prototypes and handheld instrumentation systemsIdeal QualificationsExperience in electronics design, prototyping, assembly, and manufacturingStrong understanding of microcontroller-based systemsExperience managing outsourced manufacturing, PCB fabrication, and contract manufacturersFamiliarity with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers preferredExperience with Eagle CAD or similar PCB design tools preferredInterest in precision scientific instrumentationExperience with high-voltage bias supplies for PMTs or SiPM-based detector systems.Experience with radiation detection, medical devices, or laboratory instrumentation is a plus
