Structural Engineer
Overview
In this Structural Engineer role, you contribute to multi-disciplinary design for power generation projects, including traditional and renewable sectors. You’ll work within AECOM’s Energy practice to translate structural concepts into buildable solutions for large-scale facilities. You’ll support design through construction, ensure code compliance, and collaborate with a global team of engineers and planners. The position offers remote or flexible office options and the chance to contribute to first-of-a-kind programs like the stellarator initiative. You’ll help shape resilient energy infrastructure for a sustainable future.

ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering analyses and design under supervisionProvide engineering support for multi-discipline projects from scope to constructionEvaluate and apply building and design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC)Travel to project sites and meetings as neededUse 3D analytical structural modeling toolsAssist with production of drawings and documentsDevelop technical specifications, plans, and details
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering2+ years of relevant heavy industrial and/or power generation experienceEIT or PE license (preferred)Experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete designFamiliarity with AISC, ACI 318, IBC, ASCE 7Proficiency with Microsoft OfficeExperience with STAAD ProBasic AutoCAD skillsExperience in civil drainage and sitework designEnthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficientEnthusiastic and drivenTeam-oriented and collaborativeStrong communication and documentation skillsStructural analysis and designCode compliance (AISC, ACI, IBC, ASCE 7)STAAD.Pro
