Litigation Associate

Costello, Cooney & Fearon, PLLC, a preeminent Upstate New York firm, is seeking an attorney to join its established Litigation Practice Group in its Syracuse office. In addition to being admitted to practice in New York, candidates should have at least two (2) years of experience in litigation.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general litigation areas. Key responsibilities will include:Managing all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions and trial preparation;Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, briefs and other legal documents;Communicating effectively with clients, counsel and other personnel;Participating in depositions, hearings and court proceedings;Maintaining case files and managing deadlines.Qualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school;Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligible for admission);At least two (2) years of litigation experience preferred;Strong research, writing and analytical skills;Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;Ability to work independently and as part of a team;Commitment to professional development and client service.Salary range: $90K-$120K annually, plus bonus potential tied to performance metrics.The above salary range is the good faith range for this position at the firm at the time of posting. Final determination of compensation will incorporate a number of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience and qualifications.Applicants should be prepared to submit a cover letter, resume, writing sample and transcript.Costello, Cooney & Fearon has been providing legal services of the highest quality to its clients for over 125 years. Our award-winning firm is recognized as a top-tier legal practice with a commitment to exceptional representation, community service and professional excellence. The successful candidate will be a part of a mid-sized firm, where employees work closely together to provide services in a progressive manner. The candidate will join a culture that emphasizes the quality of its services, while providing an environment which encourages individuals to grow in their practice.
