The mission of the Concordia R-II School District is for students to strive for academic and personal excellence.Term of Employment: 174Responsible to: Building AdministratorQualifications: Current valid Missouri CertificationThe Elementary Classroom Teacher Performance Responsibilities include:Teaching communication arts, social studies, mathematics, science and other appropriate learning activities to pupils in a classroom using the course of study adopted by the Board of Education .Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law, administrative regulations, and procedures of the school district.Develops lesson plans, instructional materials, and provides individual and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the individual student.Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize available time for instruction.Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss the pupil's progress and interpret the school program.Identifies the pupil's needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.Creates an environment for learning .Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and self selected growth activities,Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids. Maintains required inventory records.Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.Administers group standardized tests in accordance with the district's testing program.Participates in curriculum development programs as required.Participates in faculty meetings, committees, and sponsorship of student activities.Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.Complies with good safety practices.Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.Other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary may be assigned.The Concordia R2 School District has an opening for certified elementary teacher. This opening could be in Kindergarten or up to 6th grade. Concordia Elementary is an ECSE, PreK-6th grade building of approximately 245 students. Student to staff ratio is, on average, 15:1. CES is a LETRS trained school, and we utilize PBIS to support student behavior and discipline.CES is supported by a curriculum/instruction director in the building, SPED resource rooms, an experienced principal, and monthly professional development opportunities. We also have a Recovery Room for behavior assistance, facilitated by an experienced staff member.
