Maintenance Apprenticeship Program

This is an onsite position based at our Allen Plant location in Gastonia, NC. This position is open only to currently enrolled Gaston College Students The Maintenance Apprenticeship Program in collaboration with Gaston College provides an alternative to traditional higher education for those who enjoy working with their hands, are interested in careers in a STEM-related field, or want to continue working full-time while learning. Overview We are seeking an Apprentice to join our team and learn the ropes of our industry. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to kickstart their career in a hands-on environment. Responsibilities - Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues under the guidance of experienced professionals - Provide field service support and assist with mechanical tasks - Gain hands-on experience with welding and precision measuring instruments - Assist in the installation and maintenance of logic controllers - Develop customer service skills while interacting with internal clients - Acquire knowledge of scissor lift operation Practical Part | MANN+HUMMEL Allen Plant | ~80% Fast Paced Production Large pressing operations Team concept to innovation Opportunity to define maintenance support tasks and procedures Regular exchange with experienced Mentor to discuss feedback / progress Theoretical Part | Gaston College |~20% Maintenance Procedures Industrial Safety Technical classes (Welding, Wiring, Hydraulics / Pneumatics, etc.) …and many more! Qualifications - Mechanical knowledge or a strong interest in learning mechanical skills - Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions - Willingness to learn new technologies and processes - Basic understanding of logic controllers is a plus - Familiarity with precision measuring instruments is advantageous - Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma - Good knowledge of scientific subjects as well as interest in technical contexts - Hands on mentality, mechanical aptitude - Team spirit, commitment, motivation, and flexibility - Must be willing to work all three shifts This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in various technical areas while working alongside seasoned professionals.
