Database Administrator III
Database Administrator IIIFull Visibility is seeking a Database Administrator III with a Top Secret Clearance to work onsite in Quantico VA. The Database Administrator will maintain existing databases, monitor, and improve database performance for future expansion requirements. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: develop, configure, and execute plans for redundancy and disaster recovery as well as security and safeguarding of the databases. Ensure appropriate steps are taken to develop interfaces between the databases and application. Debug issues that are part of a production Windows desktop application environment. Issues involving improving performance on a query, timely inserts of data, using bulk-loading techniques, and recovery of databases are routine to be performed. Create and/or modify existing schemas in order to deal with an influx of data records. Make recommendations that will be applied long-term and must be able to evaluate record storage options across all currently available database systems. Ensure 24/7 operation of the : Active Top Secret clearance. This position may require the successful completion of a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph. Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering/Development and six (6) years of experience as a Database Administrator (in lieu of education, ten (10) years specialized work experience as a Database Administrator). Proficient in and experience in the day-to-day operation, maintenance, management, and troubleshooting of Microsoft SQL or other relational databases,.net (4.0 and above) C# desktop applications (either WinForms or WPF). Proficient in the creation of stored procedures, views, and CLR code, as well as skilled in ensuring optimization and efficiency in this area. Experience working with large-scale databases (many billions of items) in an MS SQL or other relational database environment. Experience creating new schemas based on prior knowledge of production databases he/she has run, tuned, and maintained in a production environment. Experience with PostgreSQL or the YellowBrick appliance.
