Our expertise in both mechanical and controls engineering ensures the creation of reliable equipment that meets production and material handling needs with precision.Role DescriptionThe Automation/Machine Build Technician will support the build, setup, troubleshooting, and installation of custom automated manufacturing systems at our Bay City, MI facility. This hands-on role includes machine assembly, system checkout, and supporting final testing to ensure equipment meets internal and customer specifications.The position also involves startup support at customer facilities, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled systems, and working closely with Engineering to implement improvements and resolve issues.QualificationsHands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled automation systemsWorking knowledge of PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Allen-Bradley)Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fluid power schematicsExperience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsExperience with machine build, assembly, or automated equipment preferredWillingness and ability to travel to customer sites for installation and startupStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred:Experience making basic PLC logic modificationsExposure to HMI systems and machine startupTechnical certification or Associate’s degree in a related field
