Logistics Coordinator

Clayton Services is searching for a Logistics Coordinator to join a thriving company in West Houston (Energy Corridor area) The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating shipping, freight, and transportation activities while ensuring efficient supply chain operations from order processing through final delivery. Job Type: Temporary/Contract (3-6 Months with potential for hire)Pay Rate: $25.00/hour Benefits: Medical benefits once eligible Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities:Coordinate daily logistics operations, including shipping, freight, and transportation activitiesManage and process documentation such as purchase orders, bills of lading, and shipment recordsEnsure timely pickup and delivery of materials and finished goodsMonitor shipments, costs, timelines, and operational performance metricsCommunicate with customers to provide updates and resolve order or shipment issuesTroubleshoot and resolve logistics, inventory, and transportation discrepanciesTrack and manage KPIs to ensure efficiency and continuous improvementAnalyze logistics processes and identify opportunities to improve service and reduce costsPartner with internal teams, including sales and supply chain, to support operationsBuild and maintain relationships with carriers and service providersMonitor vendor performance and assist with basic rate negotiationsMaintain accurate data within ERP and internal systemsProactively anticipate customer and operational needs to prevent delays or disruptionsOther duties as assigned Logistics Coordinator Skills and Abilities:Strong experience with shipping, freight, and transportation coordinationExcellent communication and customer service skillsStrong organizational and time management abilitiesDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics systemsStrong analytical skills with the ability to improve processesAbility to work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors Logistics Coordinator Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations preferredExperience with customer service or account management is a plusFamiliarity with ERP systems and logistics software preferredKnowledge of logistics regulations and compliance standards is a plus Logistics Coordinator Immediate need.
