With the current provider departing after more than a decade, you will inherit a thriving, high-volume schedule and longstanding patient relationships from day one.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesConduct high-volume comprehensive medical eye examinations with a focus on patient education and long-term ocular healthDiagnose and manage ocular diseases and vision conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degenerationPrescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and therapeutic treatments as appropriateCo-manage pre- and post-operative care for ophthalmic surgical patientsEducate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventative eye careMaintain accurate and timely patient documentation utilizing ModMed EMRCollaborate closely with ophthalmologists, technicians, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of careDeliver an exceptional patient experience through compassionate and professional communicationRemain current on advancements in medical optometry, treatment protocols, and ophthalmic technologyQualificationsDoctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institutionActive and unrestricted Arizona optometry licenseStrong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skillsAbility to efficiently manage a high patient volume while maintaining quality of care and patient satisfactionExperience with electronic medical records; ModMed experience preferredCommitment to providing outstanding patient-centered carePrevious experience in a medical or ophthalmology practice preferred, but not requiredIdeal CandidateThis position is ideal for a compassionate, patient-focused Optometrist who thrives in a medically oriented environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate values clinical excellence, stays current with advancements in eye care and vision technology, communicates effectively with patients and staff, and demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and strong ethical standards.
