Software Engineer (.NET Core / AWS Microservices) Hybrid role in Austin, TX$95,000 – $100,000 annually (Contract-to-Hire) Contract: 6-month contract to hire with potential to extend We are seeking a Software Engineer to join an engineering team responsible for building and maintaining highly transactional, cloud-based microservices within a modern payment processing environment. This role focuses on developing scalable backend services using .NET Core within AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a motivated engineer who thrives in fast‐paced, agile environments and enjoys building reliable, high-performance systems. This position will work closely with engineering teams to design, develop, and maintain cloud-native services that support secure payment and financial transaction platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based microservices using .NET CoreBuild highly scalable and transactional backend services within AWS environments
- Write, test, and troubleshoot application code to ensure reliability and performance
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement system enhancements
- Participate in system architecture discussions and technical solution design
- Troubleshoot application and system issues across distributed environments
- Develop integrations and services that interact with multiple applications and systems
- Contribute to testing, debugging, and deployment of application updates
- Document technical designs, solutions, and processes
- Assist with system maintenance, monitoring, and production support
- Required Qualifications3–5+ years of software development experience
- Minimum 2 years of programming experience within financial services or a related industry
- Experience with .NET Core
- Experience building cloud-native applications
- Experience with AWSExperience with Docker
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Experience using Git version control
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within the payments domain
- Experience with C/C++Experience with Jenkins or CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Web Forms
EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
