Position Overview:
As a Systems Engineer at Farfield Systems, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing user requirements, conceptualizing operations documents, and crafting high-level system architectures to develop comprehensive system requirements specifications. Your expertise will guide design and development activities, ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards of quality and technical integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with users to formulate and analyze system requirements, providing alternative approaches and conducting feasibility studies to guide development.
Technical Leadership: Lead the integration of requirements, design, and technology, ensuring that new plans and systems seamlessly fit into ongoing operations.
Documentation Development: Create and maintain essential technical documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, and Requirements Specifications, ensuring clarity and compliance with established standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact with government representatives regarding systems engineering technical considerations, addressing problems and conflicts that may arise.
Cross-Discipline Coordination: Manage action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings and participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to design innovative capabilities.
Risk Management: Assess risks to the program, determining probabilities and potential consequences, while planning verification efforts for new designs early in the development lifecycle.
System Integrity: Ensure ongoing technical integrity of the system baseline throughout its lifecycle, adapting to changes while maintaining compliance with all requirements.
Integrated Approach: Develop alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions that fulfill functional analyses while ensuring compatibility with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-oriented Architecture (SOA).
Qualifications:
Proven experience in system requirements management and the development of engineering documentation.
Familiarity with system integration and testing processes, particularly within government contracting environments.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct quantitative analysis of non-functional system performance areas.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Requirements:
Qualifications: (U) Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Required:• Proficient with Linux. Minimum of 2 years Linux system administration experience. • Experience with patching and upgrading Linux servers and networking resources. • VM experience• Security + cert Desired:Should have working knowledge, able to use and or support, with some (preferably most) of the following resources and tools.• Dell and HPE Linux servers• Juniper and Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls• Palo Alto firewalls• Ansible• Nutanix – VM management• Rubrik – data storage• Nomad containers• SALT scripts• LibreNMS• NetBox
Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
