Accountant

Job DescriptionResponsibilities include but not limited to all daily accounting tasks, including preparing financial transactions and posting them in the general ledger and maintaining account analysis. Will also carry out relevant administrative duties (e.g. responding to clients via email and handling invoices). Compiles, processes and maintains accounts payable records. Candidate must prepare bi-weekly payroll, accurately maintains HRIS and time card records for all employeesRESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain and update accounting records and filesAnalyze budgets and create department reportsPost transactions and categorize records to the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)Reconcile bank statementsAnalyze transactions with internal and external stakeholdersPrepare documents for auditsEnsure proper recording, accounting and reporting of all general ledger activity for month end closings. Process Accounts Payable duties. Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting as required. Tracking of all credit card usage by departments. Tracking of Capital Expenditures and Fixed Assets. Other duties as assigned by CFO. Payroll Duties:Process biweekly payroll for 100+ exempt and non-exempt employeesProcess biweekly retirement contributions using online systemQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance and three (3) years of related experience.Two (2) years of experience with financial procedures including the analysis, detection, and reconciliation of financial records.Payroll certification preferredCompany DescriptionValley Forge Military Academy is a leadership institution focused on developing the whole person.
