SummaryBrief DescriptionThe Systems Engineer, working alongside the Manager of IT Infrastructure, is responsible for day-to-day functions of all components for the company’s infrastructure. After-hours and weekend work is expected, as it will occasionally be required to fulfill job tasks including scheduled maintenance and upgrades, project deadlines, and unexpected events such as system outages and critical updates.Essential FunctionsCritical features of this position are listed below and may be revised, updated or reassigned at management’s discretion in accordance with business needs or other factors.Ensure functionality of all IT hybrid infrastructure components, including: VMware 8.0 Enterprise and associated components Dell Servers, Storage Dell Switches. Routing & switching basics preferred, but not required. Palo Alto firewalls, Velocloud SD-WAN Certificate management for internet-facing websites, servers and appliances Azure / Entra administration Active Directory DHCP, DNS, Group Policy Microsoft 365 and Intune Email appliance (Mimecast) VDI (Omnissa Horizon) environment maintenance, including configuration and deployment Encryption of files, disks, email, and devices to preserve company and patient information, in compliance of HIPAA regulations Endpoint security administration and patch management, software & OS deployment, inventory managementEnsure connectivity to company’s primary data center and co-location for Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery / Incident ResponseEscalation point for IT Help Desk technical issues.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably computer science or related field5 years of relevant work experience.Minimum of 5 years of expertise in: Deploying and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server, SQL server Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and group policy Understanding of routing and switching, including high availability and redundancy featuresKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesStrong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.Ability to research issues and products as required.Ability to function reliably and accurately in an at-times high-pressure environment.Highly self-motivated and directed.
