Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Developer to play a key role in the modernization of LifeNet, our enterprise life insurance platform. This individual will help lead the transformation of a legacy Windows-based Point-of-Sale (POS) and policy maintenance system into a scalable, cloud-native architecture powered by React, .NET 8 microservices, and Microsoft Azure. This is a hands-on senior engineering role with strong influence over architecture, technical direction, and modernization strategy.
What You’ll Do:
- 🔹 Application Modernization & Architecture
- Lead migration from legacy .NET Framework to modern .NET 8 microservices architecture
- Apply modernization patterns such as Strangler Fig and domain-driven decomposition
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems🔹 Frontend Development
- Develop enterprise-grade UI using React 18+ and TypeScriptBuild reusable, accessible, and responsive components
- Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIsImplement state management using Redux Toolkit or React Query🔹 Backend & Microservices
- Build and maintain microservices supporting:
- Policy Management
- Client Management
- Agent Management
- UnderwritingDocument Management
- Design RESTful APIs and apply patterns such as CQRS, Event Sourcing, and API Gateway
- Implement dynamic business workflows using Microsoft Rules Engine🔹 Cloud & DevOpsDeploy and manage services on Microsoft AzureAKS (Kubernetes)
- Azure API Management
- Azure Service BusAzure SQL / Cosmos DBAzure Blob Storage
- Containerize applications with DockerBuild CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or ARM)
- Ensure observability via Application Insights and Azure Monitor🔹 Integration & Compliance
- Integrate with third-party services (ExamOne, DocuSign, MIB, and calculation engines)
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory standards and data security best practices (HIPAA, SOC 2)
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions🔹 Leadership
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews
- Contribute to technical standards and engineering best practices
- Partner with business analysts, underwriters, and product teams
- Required Technical Experience
- Frontend 5+ years of experience with React (React 18+ preferred)
- Strong proficiency in TypeScriptExperience with modern state management (Redux Toolkit, React Query)
- Experience with enterprise component libraries (Material-UI, Ant Design)
- Responsive design and accessibility (WCAG standards)
- Experience with modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS preferred)
- Backend 7+ years of .NET development experience
- Strong expertise in .NET 8 / ASP.NET Core Web APIEntity Framework Core
- Microservices architecture and distributed systems designRESTful API design
- Experience with rule engines (Microsoft Rules Engine or similar)
- Cloud & DevOps 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft AzureDocker & Kubernetes (AKS)CI/CD (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or ARM)
- Monitoring & logging (Application Insights, Azure Monitor)
Database
Strong SQL Server / Azure SQL experience
Experience with NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB preferred)
Database migration and optimization strategies
Experience with polyglot persistence patterns
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the insurance industry, especially life insurance
- Familiarity with insurance admin systems (Sapiens CoreSuite, LifeComm, RPS)
- Experience modernizing legacy enterprise applications
- Understanding of underwriting workflows and policy administration lifecycle
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (xUnit, Jest, Cypress)
- Knowledge of workflow engines and page orchestration frameworks
- Domain Knowledge (Preferred)
- Life insurance products (Term, Whole, Universal, Annuities)
- Underwriting and risk assessment processes
- Policy servicing and claims lifecycle
- Agent and home office operations

Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Azure or other relevant cloud certifications preferred
