About the Opportunity:The Cloud Systems Engineer role is responsible for managing and enhancing cloud and on-premises platforms with a strong emphasis on Microsoft 365 services. This position ensures secure, reliable collaboration tools and infrastructure that support the institution’s academic and administrative functions. The role contributes to system security, resilience, and modernization efforts, impacting the quality and accessibility of the educational environment.3. Responsibilities:• Administer and improve Microsoft 365 platform focusing on security, compliance, and usability• Deliver reliable enterprise services for teaching, learning, and operations• Contribute to platform governance and architectural decisions• Collaborate with IT and campus stakeholders to align services with institutional goals• Support and manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Automate, and Copilot• Implement messaging, collaboration, and compliance policies• Troubleshoot complex cloud service issues• Support service lifecycle management and modernization initiatives• Assist in administration and growth of Microsoft Azure services• Participate in governance, identity management, and cost optimization• Support on-premises systems including VMware environments• Assist with backup and disaster recovery solutions• Manage storage/SAN platforms• Support infrastructure modernization bridging on-premises and cloud• Collaborate with IT Security, Networking, and academic units• Provide technical expertise for campus initiatives• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement4. Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in a technology field or equivalent experience• 3-5+ years of application/system administration with Microsoft 365 platform experience• Experience with Microsoft 365 services in an enterprise environment• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure• Knowledge of VMware virtualization, backup and recovery, storage/SAN platforms• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills• Collaborative mindset and commitment to supporting a diverse academic communityPreferred Qualifications:• Experience in higher education or mission-driven organizations• Knowledge of PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or automation tools• Relevant certifications in Microsoft 365, Azure, or infrastructure technologies5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:• The anticipated hiring range is $74,367 to $100,000 per year• Actual compensation depends on experience, education, and departmental budget6.
